I’ve been looking forward to Katie and Trent’s engagement session since the moment they told me where they were getting married: Gorrie Mill in Morriston, Florida. It’s a brand new wedding venue that’s still in the works—but even under construction, the space has so much beauty and charm. Between the wide-open fields and the massive old oaks draped in moss, it already feels like a hidden gem in Central Florida.

These two will be the first couple to get married at Gorrie Mill, which made their session feel even more personal. We wandered through the property as the sun dropped low behind the trees, chasing golden light and finding all the little pockets of beauty tucked around the grounds. It was quiet, peaceful, and just felt like them.

Honestly, their photos give off major Nicholas Sparks movie energy—in the best way. That mix of stillness, chemistry, and the kind of Southern setting you’d expect to see in a love story set in a small town. There were moments that felt like they could’ve been pulled straight from a scene in The Notebook—without trying too hard, just naturally romantic.

Katie and Trent were a blast to photograph. This session wasn’t overly posed or planned; it was just them being together in a place that’s soon going to hold a big part of their story.

If you're wedding planning in Central Florida and looking for a venue that blends natural beauty with a laid-back, rustic feel, keep an eye on Gorrie Mill in Morriston. It’s going to be something special.
