When Marissa reached out to inquire about wedding photography I knew we would get along so well! She has such a sweet energy to her and I was so excited for her and Jake's engagement session.
Being a Florida wedding photographer is so much more than beaches and palm trees, and Florida has such rich history! St. Augustine is one of my favorite cities and it was an obvious choice for their shoot being it is a city they love so much as a couple and will be the location of their wedding next year.
When the day came the weather looked perfect, until it didn't! We prayed for a break in the unexpected thunderstorms and just as I pulled into town the sky cleared out and we were able to adventure around historic St. Augustine without a single drop from the sky.
The Flagler College campus is so perfect for engagement sessions! The red brick of the courtyard has such a romantic and aged feel.
We ventured over to the grounds of The Lightner Museum. I love the canopies over the windows and the way you could see Jake spinning Marissa in the reflections of the glass!
We ended their session just as the storm clouds were rolling back in and it made for a very dramatic backdrop over the harbour for this final shot!
I am so looking forward to photographing their wedding next yeat at the Historic Renaissance Hotel.
